When I took on the role of headteacher, it was my first headship and the school was still in shock from an ‘Inadequate’ Ofsted grading when I began as head. We had been told by Ofsted to have subject leaders and in our tiny school were not sure how to go about this.

Your experience of leading small schools was invaluable as it is certainly a challenge to design a curriculum for mixed age year groups that both supports and challenges all our learners.
